Gamera is taking over the world. Bear witness from the edge of your seats. Gather ‘round and watch Gamera demolish cities stretching its limbs. You would be a lucky chap to have it in you here. The situation is outstanding.
Gamera is a Kaiju, a giant Japanese monster hellbent on destroying the cities which it invades. Check it out. This is the stuff of legends. Something straight out of a storybook. A good page-turner about monsters. A giant destructive force painting a vivid picture of the mechanization of primordial beings. But the buck doesn’t stop there. Take a Kaiju story to the film industry and you have a hit. A Japanese phenomenon, Kaiju movies have been popular with an infatuated audience of dreamers for a long time. The market for giant monsters is a popular one.
A Kaiju is a devil of sorts, or a demon. An adversary to mankind. A big one. Taking up its problem with humanity, the Kaiju will stop at nothing to defeat the lives of the Japanese. Take Gamera, for example. Gamera flies, breathes fire, and leaving the ruins of buildings in the path of flame. Renowned and astounding, but terrible and hostile. A monster with superpowers giving thorough punishment to society.
This thing commonly has origin in atomic power or radioactivity. Elemental stimulation driving the beast toward existence. But its hostility terrorizes the townspeople of Japan, like it arose from the coast to invade the land. An oceanic inhabitant that was fed up with the humdrum.
Their appeal takes the world by storm. It is traditional, modern, and futuristic at the same time. The chromatic blend of colors helps to solidify the stability of Kaiju culture. Rising above the billboards, towering above the towers, the cityscape has its discourse thoroughly disrupted by a force. A fortune ironically bestowed on humanity. The power of a lurking monster.
A Kaiju is a bringer of destruction to cities and those who dwell there. Upon coming to land in a city, you’re done with the thing. It’ll take parts of the town and rip them limb from limb. Teething on buildings without warrant and leaving everything in its wake. It’s a threat to society. A bad one. Society has a responsibility to look out for its inhabitants. Whatever’s left when the Kaiju’s left.
The big, bad Kaiju has been a big screen hit since before this generation of millennials. Older generations have taken an interest in giant Japanese monsters for a long time. It’s the thing to do if you have nothing else to do. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
